Yoga in a Time of Climate Change
The wind today
is so ferocious
blowing too tame a word
it howls, but even that
feels too mild
a descriptor for this sound
wailing comes a little closer.
As we lie in savasana
surrendering on the mat
I think of air, the heart’s element
and the wailing sounds
like the earth’s heart
breaking in a spasm of torment
because her children
have lost their way.
